01

Web video is not detected or will not play

  • Reload the page, start playback on the website itself, then try the Video + controls again.
  • Check whether the site requires sign-in, blocks embedded playback, or uses DRM. Video + cannot bypass access controls or guarantee compatibility with every site.
  • Try turning site-specific blocking or Clean Mode off temporarily. Confirm that the same video works in Safari.
02

Picture in Picture or background audio stops

  • Confirm the website permits the feature and that playback has started before leaving the app.
  • Check iOS Picture in Picture, Background App Refresh, Low Power Mode, audio route, and site playback settings.
  • Some websites or operating-system updates may interrupt background playback even when Video + remains active.
03

Local media and subtitles

  • Re-import the file from Photos or Files and confirm it is fully downloaded from the cloud provider.
  • Try a system-supported container and codec. A recognized file extension does not guarantee its internal codec is playable.
  • Keep subtitle files accessible and verify their encoding and timing. Include the file type—not the file itself—when contacting support.
04

File servers and local transfer

  • Confirm the iPhone or iPad and server are reachable on the same network when required, and allow Local Network access in iOS Settings.
  • Recheck protocol, host, port, path, username, and permissions. Public HTTP and WebDAV addresses are rejected; use HTTPS or WebDAVS. Cleartext HTTP and WebDAV work only with local-network servers, and FTP is not encrypted.
  • For browser upload, keep Video + open, use the address shown by the app, and stop sharing when finished.
05

Privacy, ads, and local data

Browsing data, playlists, progress, and imports are primarily managed on your device. The free version uses Google Mobile Ads, and third-party websites keep their own cookies and data. See the Privacy Policy for the exact data flow and deletion choices.

What to include in a support email

  • Video + app version, iPhone or iPad model, and iOS/iPadOS version.
  • What you expected, what happened, and exact steps to reproduce it.
  • The public website domain or server protocol if relevant—omit private paths and credentials.
  • A screenshot with personal information covered. Response times vary, but complete reports are easier to resolve.
